It does not seem to work with Arabic language. When I cut and past and Arabic Text on the box; it returns that the number of words are 0..

This word count was so helpful. Helped me in my assignment coz it needed to strictly be at most, ie, 100 words for the intro. Using this word-thing, i made it EXACTLY 100. Thanks Internet.

For example, sometimes I like to write something in the word count box rather than on a different program so I don't have to keep copying and pasting. Every now and then I do something incredibly stupid like accidentally press "refresh" or go to a different site without opening up a new tab, and then I lose all the stuff I had typed. Just a thought. Thanks though, this site is f***ing awesome either way.

The one thing i don't like about word counter tool is you think you've spelled a word right but when the red line comes up you've actually realized you've spelled a word wrong when you think you've spelled it right word counter tool is just the silliest thing ever invented.

I have found this web VERY VERY useful and helpful, but i was wondering if there would be like an "Option" button on the top so when you click it it would show you options like for example...
-Different languages.
-Like "Ignore these words" and there would be like a list where you enter the list of words that you don't want to be counted in the paragraph.

Its fast and simple!!! but its a shame it can't count the words beginning with an apostrophe(')... cuz that wud have been more helpful for me cuz there are loads of words that begin with an apostrophe in my article and i am totally confused! so i wud rate this wordcounter about 4/5 (4 out of 5). Its kinda amazing though, its like a brain literally guessing the exact answer of how many words there are in you article, in a flash!!!

The count for mine was WAY off. I don't know if its because of special characters or having too many spaces between lines or what, but other count services counted 400 words and I know that to be accurate. However, this site gave a count of 164. Way off.

works great except for some reason, it's stopping the count for me at 824? when I know I have 1371, according to another word counter :/ plus it's impossible for me to get 824, write a paragraph, add it, and still get 824 words even after refreshing several times.

EXTREMELY useful. Microsoft Works can only word-count the whole document. This tool fills in the missing piece.

Great for writing "Letters to the Editor" where a specific amount of words are allowed. You can write within the counting space. Add, delete, then just hit submit. No need to go back and forth between documents.

I use this multiple times a day Monday through Friday at my writing job, and it has never let me down. Awesome tool, much cleaner and easier to use than other ones. The rounded edges of the orange square are comforting.

This is such a wonderful tool! I have been using it for my assignments that have a word count minimum. Word Processor just doesn't work right, and other sites count all on the spaces you have, so you cannot get an accurate answer, but this tool is so different! It works perfectly and doesn't do what I just mentioned. Now, if it could write my essays for me, that would be even better! Haha! Thank you so much for this tool!

That was amazing. I had a long essay I had to type and I was finished but i wasn't sure if I had enough words. Then I came to this website, copy and pasted by essay and within a couple seconds it had the word count.

Found your word count tool very helpful. Only improvement I'd suggest is to give a countdown as one types. For instance, I entered text that had 581 words. I was going for 600. I made revisions right there and would have appreciated a countdown, as I typed. Many thanks! (PS: I just noticed, your time doesn't match mine. It's only 7:35AM here in Pacific NW.)

this is brilliant and easy to use. i think a CLEAR button would be so much better! when ive been writing 10,000 word essays i have to scroll ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the way through it to delete it. its such a time waster. and also if you had a button to spell check id probably give you an award or something.

I find this tool so useful, it quick, easy, and there when I need it. All I have to do is type the website into the address bar and boom, there it is! It does not take long to calculate how many words you have put down either. This website was smart to invent, good job!

Love this tool. Writing professionally, I'm required to keep columns and articles to a very specific length. This tool helps me trim articles down to size with ease! I do not think this word count is very good. I was helping my daughter with her work and when she entered her text of over 660 words, it stated we only used 2. We tried it a second time and it then said 4. After a grand total of 18 times of trying we eventually got the right answer of 667 but I think this is very dodgey and could affect many people if doing a very importan document.

Very usefull tool. I always use it when I need to count how many words I have for a school project. I had 1934 words when I only needed 200. I was shocked. Good job with the tool though. :)

Just to let you all know, the tool submits what you type in into the server, the the person who made this website can read anything and everything that you type in. Don't believe me? I think it's very awesome that you are providing this service. It has proved to be a very valuable tool, as I am going to school online, and have to check my posts to ensure that they are substantial before posting online to my school. May I suggest adding a "Clear All" feature after checking the word count of my text? This way, I don't have to select all of the text and delete it. Maybe implement a "select all" feature and a "clear all" feature. I tend to keep this open for longer periods also when I am working on papers. Otherwise, this is awesome and thanks for providing it. I found this simply by doing a Google search.

WordPad has no word count tool and the Word that comes with Windows 7 is intentionally inconvenient to use. One of the best parts of writing my essay is being able to go to this site as a 'reward' and check my progress. Two-thirds of the essay completed well, 500 thoughtful words to go. as self proclaimed google qween... everyonce in a while i think up a beautifully wonderfully simple "data-base" thing (is how i explain it to the older more experienced ppl)

I use this to help me to know how many character's I am going to send in a text message from email. There is a limit on how many characters allowed and if you send too many characters, the message will not be recieved in it's entirety. Thanks, Word Count Tool!

woooooww....... with an internet word counter, an online spell check, and all these cool features, there really isnt a need for microsoft word anymore. my computer doesnt have those features like my other one did, so i googled a word counter. and here it is, very neat and effective
